 Energy Sense is a marketing strategy, co-ordinated by the Housing Department of Leicester City Council. We are aiming to involve all parts of the trade sector, from manufacturers and builders to installers and retailers. The main message we are trying to convey to the members of the trade is the potential for growth in sales for energy efficiency products, from items such as draught proofing and insulation materials, through low energy lightbulbs and domestic appliances, to full house space heating and general repairs.

 Membership is free. It is expected that due to the publicity and promotion generated as a result of Energy Sense, the volume of sales for energy saving products and services in Leicester will increase markedly. 

We have two main expectations for any company involved in the initiative: 

That a discount is offered on products and services given to people involved in the scheme on production of an Energy Sense card. 
That simple information about specific details of products and services sold under the initiative are recorded. The basic information we require would be obtained at the point of sale, and treated as strictly confidential.
